St. John tells us that as Jesus initiated his Last Supper with his disciples, he was fully aware of what he was doing, fully aware of what this meal anticipated and made sacramentally present, fully aware of it was going to cost him. We talk more about how love was manifested at the Last Supper with Msgr. Michael Heintz.

Msgr. Michael Heintz is academic dean and associate professor at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He joined the seminary faculty in 2016 after more than a decade at the University of Notre Dame, where he taught undergraduate courses in Theology and served as director of the Masters of Divinity program. His areas of study include historical theology and the history of spirituality.

The Eucharist in its Jewish Context

Dr. Andre Villenuevé is an Associate Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2013, writing his dissertation on the topic of nuptial symbolism in the New Testament and in ancient Jewish writings. His main areas of interest include the study of Sacred Scripture, the Jewish roots of the Catholic faith, leading pilgrimages to the Holy Land, and fostering the reconciliation of Israel and the Church through the work of Catholics for Israel.
