+  UNESCO Confirms Jordan as Place of Christ’s Baptism

  • Description: Last week the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization confirmed Al Maghtas, Jordan as the site of Christ’s bapstism and officially declared it a World Heritage Site. The declaration confirms a decision UNESCO made last year. Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis have all visited the site, unofficially adding their endorsement as well.
