Fr. Patrick Gonyeau

Join Fr. Patrick for a joyful evening of Lenten reflection, given in word and song, about this most amazing story. Humanity started out in a garden of love. That paradise was lost until Jesus, the Bridegroom, came to show us the Way out of the darkness of sin and death, and back into the light of His love. Truly we were lost, truly our souls were filled with darkness…until The Bridegroom came.

Gorzkie Zale (Bitter Lamentations)

‘Lenten (or Bitter) Lamentations’) is a devotion that developed out of Poland in the 18th century. The devotion is primarily a sung reflection and meditation on the Passion of Christ and the sorrows of His Blessed Mother. The devotion consists of a three-part cycle, subdivided into five unique parts. One part of the cycle is held on each Sunday in the period of Lent.

The devotion usually starts with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by the sung introductory hymn: “Pobudka do rozmyślania męki Pańskiej” (English: “A wake-up call to begin meditating Our Lord’s Passion”).
