Cat Chat Family Concert

St. Thomas Aquinas is sponsoring a free concert by Cat. Chat. The Cat. Chat team brings together a unique blend of ministry and entertainment. Cat.Chat concerts are specifically geared for young families with kids (pre K- grade 6). The songs are dynamic and packed with God’s Word and Catholic teachings that bring children into a refreshing experience of Catholicism. The concert is filled with powerful music, crowd participation, unicycling, juggling, yo-yos, prizes, good humor, prayer times and family fun.
The Cat.Chat family and Moses the cat have performed close to 400 concerts in the last 6 years. Audiences have been “wowed” by The Cat.Chat family’s unique blend of ministry and entertainment. They have also filmed a TV series for kids that airs on EWTN, Thursdays at 5:00pm Eastern time.
This year’s concert theme is: Knowing Jesus: The Ultimate One!

Prayer vigil at two abortion mills with Archbishop Vigneron

1. 7:30am Holy Sacrifice of the mass offered by Archbishop Vigneron at the historical Assumption Grotto Church Gratiot and Seymour

2. 8:30am Holy Rosary Pilgrimage. Proceed to St. Veronica Church, 21440 Universal, Eastpointe. Assemble for prayful, peaceful, loving
Rosary procession led on foot by the Archbishop to two nearby abortion mills. Total walking distance 6 blocks.

3. 10:15am Eucharistic Benediction: Return to Assumption Grotto to conclude the vigil with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
*Refreshments follow in the school gym. BRING A FRIEND–SAVE A LIFE.

Simple Service Saturdays

3rd Saturday Monthly 9 AM – Noon
Attention young adults aged 18-35: Solanus Casey Center’s Simple Service Saturdays. 9 AM Mass with the Capuchin friars, followed by a service opportunity at a Capuchin Soup Kitchen site. Earthworks Urban Farm Harvest Dinner

Attend the 6th Annual Earthworks Urban Farm Harvest Dinner held at Gleaners Community Food Bank, a Capuchin Soup Kitchen partner. Tickets start at a sliding scale of $15-$100. For tickets call: 313-579-2100, ext 204. The dinner will feature locally-grown produce all prepared by the Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s Executive Chef Alison Costello. The dinner is a celebration of the year’s work and bounty. It serves as a way to reflect on the essential life connections we have between each of ourselves and our food. Through the act of breaking bread, we fully recognize how interconnected and interdependent we are on each other and nature.

“Focus on Life Family BBQ”

Dearborn Area RTL’s annual “Focus on Life” dinner featuring 16 year old Canadian, Lia Mills as guest speaker. When Lia was 12 years old she came up against strong opposition to her pro-life speech for a school contest. The speech was put on YouTube and got over one half million viewings. Come hear how Lia handled the anger and even death threats that came her way for standing up for life.

Run for Their Lives 5C Walk

The 5C is a little walking, a little chocolate and a lot of fun – all with the purpose of saving babies! The walk will begin at Brighton Nazarene Church and the hundreds of walkers will walk together downtown. Registrants get an awesome ‘Run for Their Lives’ t-shirt along with five coupons (aka the ‘5C’) to exchange for a variety of chocolate treats at specially selected shops along the one mile route. The event concludes with a presentation and entertainment at the Mill Pond Gazebo.
The Pregnancy Helpline’s “Run for Their Lives 5C Walk’ event is designed to bring our community together to raise money for families in need. Proceeds from this event are used to provide mentoring, parenting education, diapers, food, formula, clothing and other infant equipment to families within our community that are facing a crisis pregnancy. The Clinic also provides free pregnancy testing, nurse consultation and life-saving ultrasound to anyone seeking help.
Where: Brighton Church of the Nazarene, 7669 Brighton Rd., Brighton. We will walk the 1 mile into downtown Brighton. (People unable to walk can meet us at the Gazebo).

Holy Spirit Seminar – Ann Arbor

The Holy Spirit Seminar is a one-day seminar where you receive teachings on the Holy Spirit and personal prayer for more of the anointing and gifts (charisms) of the Holy Spirit. Come and experience Pentecost as the apostles did and receive the power of the Holy Spirit of fire that Jesus promised to all.
