    Update: Christian Persecution in Iraq

    • Description: Bishop Francis Kalabat from the St. Thomas Chaldean Catholic Diocese of the Eastern Part of the United States is leading a prayer rally today Friday August 22 at Hart Plaza in Detroit. “There is a crisis in Iraq,” said Bishop Francis. “We cannot idly sit back and watch ISIS terrorize an entire country and wipe out Christianity in that region.” Since reigning terror in Iraq, thousands of minorities have fled their homes. ISIS is now recording their beheadings of minorities and blasting all over social media. Bishop Francis with Bishop Sarhad led a delegation to the UN last week. Humanitarian aid has resulted from the meetings. A level 3 emergency and UN Security Council resolution came from the UN after the delegation met in New York.
