Kresta in the Afternoon – January 3, 2014 – Hour 1

+ Segment #1 of 3

COUNTDOWN OF THE TOP 40 INTERVIEWS OF 2013 - #3 - Lance Armstrong Admits to Doping – Relief For Those He Attacked?

  • Description: The formerly defiant Lance Armstrong once said, “As long as I live, I will deny ever doping,” but sitting face to face with Oprah Winfrey in an interview that was broadcast Thursday, he reversed course. With Winfrey, he lost his icy stare and buried his cutting words. Looking nervous and swallowing hard several times, he admitted to using through most his cycling career a cocktail of drugs, including testosterone, cortisone, human growth hormone and the blood booster EPO. We talk to Betsy Andreu, a former family friend to Armstrong who was visciously attacked for a decade by Armstrong after he refused to lie after hearing him admit to doping to a doctor in the hospital at the time he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Lance called her this week and she is here to react.

COUNTDOWN OF THE TOP 40 INTERVIEWS OF 2013 - #2 - Where is Billy Ray Cyrus?

  • Description: When Dr. Meg Meeker watched Miley Cyrus slither on stage at the recent MTV Video Music Awards looking like a cross between a 12-year-old boy and a seasoned pole dancer, she says she felt as though someone had kicked her in the stomach. Clearly Cyrus was coached to act sexually outrageous in order to get attention. But her handlers forgot to tell her that she would embarrass herself and, hopefully, her family. Her performance showed how seriously she has been prostituted by adults wanting to gain one thing: a lot of money. And as she moved on stage Meg wondered, Where is Billy Ray? She joins us.
